A North Shore Engagement Shoot at a Private Beach on Gloucester

There’s just something about a beach at sunset that hits different—especially when you’re wrapped up in someone you love. For this engagement session, the vibe was golden, effortless, and romantic without being too posed. The couple chose to utilize their parent’s backyard… Coffin’s Beach in Gloucester MA. When the day came the temperature was at a record high of 100 degrees. But these photos you could never tell this couple was easy, breezy beautiful.

Bailey & Nick showed up exactly how they are IRL: barefoot in the sand, laughing at each other, and genuinely enjoying the process of the shoot. They danced a little, splashed each other at the shoreline, and stole a few kisses while the tide rolled in. It was giving soft launch turned full love story. I truly love when couples show up ready to trust, ready to let their guards downs so they can get photos that they will love.

Golden Hour

Golden hour seriously delivered. Their skin glowed, their smiles popped, and the whole environment felt surreal. We leaned into movement, silhouettes, and candid moments—the kind of images that don’t just say “we’re engaged,” but this is our energy, this is us.

I made the most of the beach’s natural elements—starting in the dunes where the tall grasses added softness and texture, then moving down to the shoreline as the tide pulled in golden reflections. Each part of the beach offered a different vibe: the dunes gave cozy, sun-drenched warmth; the open stretch of sand captured clean, airy light; and the water’s edge brought in movement and a touch of drama as the sky shifted into deeper tones. The mix of locations created a beautiful visual rhythm and gave the gallery depth and variety without ever leaving the beach.

Styled in Subtle Tones for That Effortless, Timeless Look

What really pulled the whole session together was their choice of outfits—soft, neutral tones that felt both relaxed and elevated. Bailey wore a white slip dress that moved with the breeze, and Nick kept it classic with a brown polo and cream linen pants. Nothing loud, nothing overdone—just clean, minimal, and planned out thoughtfully. It gave their photos a timeless, editorial feel that won’t look dated years from now, just effortlessly beautiful.

Looking at this gallery you would never know that it was 100 degrees that night. Bailey and Nick were great sports. They were up for anything and open to taking it slow. We didn’t just shoot the entire time. We talked, we laughed, we checked out the beach and talked about their upcoming Wedding this August. It was more than a shoot..it was connecting and building trust and that is something I really love doing with my clients.
