Nantucket- the new go to spot for Elopements

If you’re thinking about skipping the big traditional wedding and going for something way more intimate, Nantucket is basically the dream. This little island off the coast of Massachusetts has the most cozy, romantic vibes while still feeling like a fun getaway. Between the cobblestone streets, adorable cottages, and endless ocean views, it’s a place that feels like a dream destination wedding yet it’s still very doable. Rachel & Mike have been going to Nantucket for years. So it was only natural that when they decided to elope there. They chose a place close to their hearts. They rented a property that could host both their families. It was a beautiful day of getting ready together followed by intimate backyard ceremony and dinner party.
Why Nantucket?
One of the biggest reasons Nantucket is so perfect for an elopement is the variety of backdrops you can choose from. Want something classic New England? Say your vows by one of the iconic lighthouses. More into beachy, laid-back vibes? Head to one of the island’s quiet stretches of sand for a sunset ceremony. And if you love those Pinterest-worthy photos, the hydrangeas in full bloom are basically nature’s wedding décor. Every part of the island looks like it belongs in your gallery. Rachel And Mike wanted a laid back vibe. So they got married underneath a big Beech tree in the back yard of their Airbnb rental followed by Bridal Portraits at the beach they always go together to.
A laid back Destination Elopement
At the end of the day, eloping in Nantucket is about creating a wedding that feels like you. It’s low-key, stunningly beautiful, and full of those little moments you’ll remember forever. If your idea of the perfect wedding is something meaningful, intimate, and a little bit adventurous, Nantucket checks all the boxes. My couple wanted to elope but they still wanted their families there and to have what felt like a beautiful reception. They hired a catering team to take care of them and they celebrated all evening long in the beautiful outdoors. Rachel picked a gorgeous table scape and had a friend do little details such as the name cards and florals. It was so intentional and beautiful.

It’s a highly desired destination and you can go all out or you could have something more laid back. It all depends on the vision you have.
