North End Boston Restaurant Wedding: A Perfect Blend of Romance & Italian Flavor

Margaret & Cooper 08/16/2025

Margaret & Cooper met right before he moved off to Arizona. It was not in Cooper’s plan to meet someone before he moved but so is life. They hit it off and despite the distance they formed a loving and deep connection that years later would bring them to plan an intimate wedding to celebrate their marriage. They had 75 guests join them on Fisherman’s Feast weekend for a small ceremony and dinner. Being that the couple loves to host they decided to incorporate more of a dinner party feel for their day. Why the North End? Read below to find out…

When it comes to planning a wedding that’s both romantic and deeply authentic, Boston’s North End is the perfect spot. Picture saying “I do” in the breathtaking St. Leonard’s Church, a historic gem tucked right into the neighborhood. With its ornate architecture, warm light, and sense of tradition, the ceremony feels timeless—like something out of a love story that’s been unfolding for centuries. It’s the kind of setting that makes your vows feel even more powerful, surrounded by history, family, and the beauty of the space. Margaret and Cooper held their ceremony at St. Leonard’s Church and walked to their reception at Assaggio’s Restaurant around the corner. She utilized Boston’s top vendor teams to pull off an unforgettable day.

A true North End experience

After the ceremony a violinist led the guests around the corner to the reception. They paraded their way through the streets during one of the North End’s busiest weekends, the Fisherman’s Feast. Instead of a generic wedding venue, you and your guests get a cozy, stylish space filled with incredible food and intimate vibes. It’s dinner party energy—but elevated for one of the most important days of your life. Margaret & Cooper had every detail planned and it was so intentional and gorgeous.

An elevated and Intimate dinner party

Assaggio’s is all about flavor and experience. Imagine long tables covered in fresh bread, handmade pasta dishes, plates of risotto, and wine flowing freely all night. Instead of a stiff, sit-down meal, your reception feels more like gathering around the table with your favorite people—except the food is next-level. Dinner is a big part of guest experience at a Wedding and a restaurant knows how to handle cooking for a big crowd. Margaret & Cooper gave their guests a great experience with multiple courses of some of Assiaggios’ best Italian food.

The North End itself becomes part of your wedding story, too. Walking from St. Leonard’s to Assaggio’s gives you that unforgettable in-between moment—hand in hand with your new spouse, weaving through streets strung with lights, locals cheering “congratulations” as you pass. Plus, the neighborhood is full of photo-worthy corners, from the brick walls to the glowing restaurant windows, making your wedding album look effortlessly cinematic.

For ouples who care more about meaningful moments and amazing experiences than cookie-cutter traditions, a St. Leonard’s and Assaggio’s wedding delivers everything. It’s intimate, authentic, and unforgettable—the perfect blend of romance, community, and Italian flavor right in the heart of Boston.
